F.A.Q. & Fun Facts!
How can I find my ring size?
- (Recommended) Stop by a jewelry store and ask them to measure your ring size
- Measure the diameter, in centimeters, of a ring that you already know fits you and send the measurement to me.
- Take a strip of paper and wrap it around your finger. Measure, in centimeters, where the paper meets end to end as accurately as possible and send the measurement to me.
For methods 2 and 3, I will see on my end which ring size I think will fit you best.
Helpful Ring Sizing Fun Facts:
-
Usually, your dominant hand is bigger. If a ring is slightly too small for one hand, try it on the other hand! Make sure to measure all fingers!
-
At times, a ring can feel tighter or looser. This is because your fingers shrink and swell throughout the day due to the temperature, water retention, exercise, etc. They tend to shrink in the cold, so be careful in the winter months that your rings don't fly off
- The best time to measure your size is at the end of the day.
- If your knuckle is bigger, take 2 measurements and choose a size in between — ring needs to fit over knuckle but not be too loose or it will shift around.
- Rings with wider bands will fit a bit tighter. If you plan to measure one of your rings, try to measure one with a similar width as the ring you want to purchase.
How can I find my necklace size?
If you would like to see if one of our necklaces will fit you, all you will need is a soft tape measure or if you don't have one on hand, a string or something string-like and a ruler.
Cut the string to the desired length and wrap it like a necklace. Most of Tse-Wall's necklaces are made to be 16'', however, if you would like yours to be slightly longer or shorter (18'', 20'', etc.), do not hesitate to ask in the 'special instructions' field at check out.
What are your rings made of?All materials are made of recycled and ethically sourced materials. Depending on the style, rings are available in sterling silver, 14K gold and brass.
What does 'recycled and ethically sourced materials' mean?
Most precious metals (gold and silver) are sourced in ways that are extremely harmful to our environment. Unethical mining not only harms the communities around them, but it usually includes the exploitation of workers. Tse-Wall uses materials that are socially and environmentally responsible and 100% recycled materials from industries other than mining which includes bench sweeps from and scraps from the jewelry industry. While at one point these materials were once mined, this is a wonderful way that the industry can not inflict more harm.
What is does sterling silver mean?
Sterling silver, also known as .925, is made up of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals. The combination of metals gives the silver its strength.
What is gold vermeil?Gold vermeil, pronounced ver-may, or any of my plated jewelry, starts with a base metal of sterling silver. It is plated using an electrolytic process where a thin layer of metal (gold or rose gold) is applied to the surface of a piece.
What does made to order mean?
Made to order means that we do not have excess stock lying around. Pieces go into production once an order comes in. This is ensures no excessive waste and is more sustainable.
